Our team

our team

HPOS has a team of 10 staff, comprising prosthetists, orthotists, technicians and administration support. Our clinicians are all qualified members of the peak professional body, the Australian Orthotics and Prosthetics Association. Prosthetists design, make and fit artificial limbs - using the most appropriate technology to meet for each person’s need. Orthotists select and fit external devices, providing mobility for people with conditions like scoliosis, cerebral palsy or stroke, where movement is severely impaired.

We are continually updating and developing our skills to keep up to date with the latest technologies and therapeutic approaches to help our clients reach their individual goals.

Our team work closely with other healthcare professionals in the region, with regular referrals from private physiotherapy or podiatry practices.

Our prosthetists and orthotists work particularly closely with Local Health District health care teams such as rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, podiatrists and nurses.

Clients are regularly referred to us by local accident and emergency departments, as well as by orthopaedic surgeons and wound care specialists, among others.

We also work closely with other relevant health and patient support organisations such as local private and not for profit providers.

All our staff are passionate about providing the best possible service to our clients and their families, to truly get them ‘moving through life’.
