Meet the team

We are an experienced and patient-centred team who are dedicated to achieving your prosthetic and orthotic goals in the Newcastle, Hunter New England, and Port Macquire regions.

Management

Adam Donaldson

Adam - Manager, Hunter and Albury Prosthetic and Orthotic services

Adam is a Registered Nurse and, after graduating in 1993, has worked clinically in major Newcastle hospitals. After a number of years implementing and managing Electronic Medical Records across Hunter New England Local Health District, in 2021, Adam commenced his role as the manager of HPOS and APOS.

Adam is passionate about providing personalised healthcare to our communities, ensuring patient interactions with his services are always to the highest standard.

Through his experience and compassion, Adam recognises that people with limb differences, especially people with a new injury, not only need a fit for purpose device, they also need the greatest care and support, and this is always instilled in his teams.

Administration

Kate Cameron

Kate - Administration

Kate has worked in the health administration space for the majority of her professional career. She has held various roles within NSW Health since 2005, and joined the HPOS team in 2008.

Kate enjoys working with the team at HPOS and providing them with administration support on a daily basis.  She also feels privileged to be able to be a part of the team empowering patients to achieve their goals.

Prosthetics

Helen Moran

Helen - Prosthetist/Orthotist

After graduating in the UK in 2007, Helen took up a graduate position with Ottobock in England before moving to Newcastle in 2010 as a Prosthetist/Orthotist at HPOS.

Helen enjoys providing services to both adult and paediatric patients. What drives Helen is seeing the impact of patients regaining their mobility and achieving their goals.

Yoriko Namiki

Yoriko - Prosthetist/Orthotist

After starting her prosthetic and orthotic studies in Japan, Yoriko moved to Australia and completed her qualification here. She worked as a prosthetist/orthotist at private and public practices in Sydney before joining HPOS in 2010.

Yoriko’s focus on lower limb amputees allows her to be part of the patient’s rehabilitation journey. She enjoys making a difference in people's lives by working with patients to achieve their functional and social goals.

Nathan Brown

Nathan - Prosthetist/Orthotist

Born and raised on the Central Coast of NSW, Nathan began working at HPOS in 2019 after completing his studies in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He enjoys working with patients in the early rehabilitation stage of amputee care and finds it rewarding to help new amputees take their first steps. Being able to share a profound moment with the patient reinforces the importance of his work.

Rachel Gonsalves

Rachel - Prosthetist

Rachel joined the HPOS team early in 2021 and her main focus is working through the rehabilitation process of new amputees. She enjoys the manufacturing and fitting process of customising a prosthesis to each patient's specific needs and where possible, ensure the design of the device is a reflection of the person they are.

Continuity of care is at the forefront of Rachels work, ensuring patients are supported as they return to their lifestyle and engagement with the community.

Orthotics

Megan Warner

Meg - Orthotist

After falling in love with the Newcastle area and joining the HPOS orthotic team in 2020, Meg’s work has focussed on caring for people affected by stroke, cerebral palsy, as well as brain and spinal injuries, polio, trauma and diabetes.

Meg enjoys working with her patients to design and make their orthotic devices in a way that meets their unique requests, while still optimising comfort, fit and function.
